Enjoy the day – Enjoy the weather

just a couple of light showery patches around Manchester and not much else in the UK at the moment
A very warm start at almost 19c this morning
the weathercam view is however a little grey and some mist still hanging about on the hilltops. The forecast might be a bit of a lottery today with Metcheck indicating sunny/cloudy this morning and cloudy/light showery this afternoon. The Met O on the other hand goes for Cloudy this morning and sunny/cloudy this afternoon. pick the forecast of your choice ! lol

With our Sojourn fast approaching i decide to add the pepper plants to the automatic watering system that i have constructed for the tomatoes
They are looking particularly good right now and have lots of peppers on them so it seems a shame to not keep them going. I toyed with just putting them outside but sods law says the rain while we are away isnt going to be sufficient to sustain them
at the same time i decided to cut back the vine which i normally leave until the leaves start to drop off. It has a few grapes on it and i will try and save them
the vine is done with the grapes saved and i take out the two tomato plants nearest to it
in go the peppers and job done!
I just need to take the cuttings to the recycle dump
all the time being watched by one of next doors young Jackdaws sitting atop our bird guard

We have been walking the last couple of days
we do however spot a dipper sitting on its favourite rock in the middle of the river. We have seen dippers on this rock many times before
the river is still very low and its looking like it will be well into Autumn before the rains manage to fill it up a bit
==============================================
yesterday we walked down the railway with the nine ladies hillside in the distance
a quick pint in the Church Inn before walking back home this time along the old track through the fields
we haven't been this way in a while and there have been a few changes. Most of this field has been planted with what looks like winter feed for the sheep
the track used to be a bit of a muddy mess but its had a lot of hardcore put on it has and graded down to a firm surface
the new track now goes right up to and just passed the old Owl barn
further on we notice that a fence has been removed and an effort to open up a piece of long neglected land has been made. The sheep are already into it
we spurn the idea of walking by the river
and spot one of the black rabbits that inhabit the hedgerow backing onto Peak Rail by our path
difficult to see in these shots
but we spot at least 20 rabbits in the field before they scurry off under the hedge as we approach
another shallow fast flowing part of the river and we spot another dipper sitting on a rock by the far bank waiting to go in for its next food foray

A PEEK AT THE PAPER
The Express banners have a sidelined Mr Vaz plug and a steam cleaner for a p under £15
The Express banners have a sidelined Mr Vaz plug and a steam cleaner for a p under £15
The main story is of Mr Farage appearing back on the Brexit scene
The Mail divides its front page between Mr Vaz and a great idea for immigrants which is also covered in the Express - - - now just get on with it - - -

I blogged in 2014 about not understanding why scientists would want to land a space thingy on a comet. But this story now says Philae is found . Confused by this i read the story and find that "Amother" space thingy called Rosetta (which launched philae onto the comet) has captured the photo of Philae lodged in a crack on the comet. "I laughed i cried i jumped for joy" well not exactly. Whats Rosetta doing up there orbiting a comet? Oh no problem Rosetta is going to be crashed into the surface of the comet in three weeks time to "Reveal Secrets" of the comets interior - - - ? - - - ! - - - eeer, why?
