I visit the local base - - - & - - - Pension joy for millions

Enjoy the day – Enjoy the weather

====================================
I'm having a few problems communicating with the weather stats back home so the photo below will have to do for today
I could see earlier that it was raining and the 3.6mm of rain in the last 24 hrs backs this up.  There's quite a breeze at the moment and the weathercam view shows some black clouds moving in from the other side of the valley.

We visited friends of our friend yesterday, the bloke Dick is a veteran of the Canadian Army and has a lovely house by the river
We first "drive thru" Tim Hortons to pick up a couple of coffee's. this always amuses me, our frind has commented that Canadians never walk anywhere if they can help it and the "drive thru" is very popular.  Explaining the order is made difficult by the inability of the person on the other end of the line to understand "2 coffee one with milk one with cream.  Our friend explains this is "normal"
Dick takes me around the local base which has over 5000 personnel on it and is attached to a training area the size of half of Wales.  Dick who used to be the boss of the facilities Physical Training Area shows me around.  This inside running track is right nest to another Gym the same size which is surrounded by weight rooms squash courts and a swimming pool!
This asphalt path runs for 22km around the base!! much like our multi million £ cycle track back home !
The yacht club is well used by the locals as well as the service people
The sailing clubs "log cabin" was built by our 9th Independent Para Squadron Royal Engineers back in the 70's who were doing an exchange with their Canadian equivalent

Dick knows the bloke who owns this island and says he has built 3 houses on it
We visit the base museum which has big Airborne collection
most of the vehicles have a history board in front and tell stories of their service
we meet an emotional lady by this ferret scout car who tell us us how proud she is of her son who has just joined the Army.
Inside the museum there is a memorialto the fallen
great to see all the outside exhibits
we leave the base after a few hours and cruise back to his house.  Later after returning to Sharons house her son and his partner come over and cook us a meal.

A PEEK AT THE PAPER
The New York bomb and another quick EU exit story dominate the Express banners
The main story eludes my searching ! - - -
The Mail has the ridiculous situation of the RM in prison! - - -
