Moving up & birds feeding well

The bloke in the pic lives by the The Thames and his house was affected by the floods earlier this year.  He has jacked up his whole house in an effort to avoid a repeat of the disaster.  If you look at the accompanying pics you get some idea of the enormity of the task! - - -

A story that will not surprise anyone is that the gas we use costs 3 times what it costs British Gas  OK there a "running costs" etc but surely its a big rip off which should be addressed - - -

Nothing new about the front page of the Express but the bit at the right about summer blasting back the follow up story has a cheery ring about the rest of the weeks weather - - -

Closer to home
We seem to be seeing lots of birds at the feeders in the garden lately.  The sunflower feeder is filled on a daily basis and visitors are sometimes seen queuing on the fence to have a go
I spotted this Nuthatch (always want to call it a tree creeper?) mush earlier
and this wood pecker not log ago is a regular visitor having a go at the peanuts.  The blue and great tits also in the pic are guaranteed not to be too far away

Enjoy the day
