Yes or No? & something lost in translation?

This pic of a sunset, presumably in Scotland is alongside a story with a headline of Scotland postal voters regretting their choice Yes or No!
With only a few days to go until "the vote" Scots who had postal votes are all finished with it.  Postal votes had to be in a week ago according to the story and some people are regretting their decision as the debate rages on - - - a case of, "I used to be undecided, now I'm just not sure" - - -

This appealing pic of a dog staring from a cage accompanies the story of how the M6 motorway was gridlocked as people flocked to the Manchester dogs home was burned down in a suspected arson attack.  Its nice to see so many people concerned but its unbelievable that someone could be so wicked as to set the place ablaze - - -

Aliens among us  is the title of this BBC story telling of the growth of "alien species" surviving in the UK.  Its an interesting roll call of species which could in the end finish up affecting the "native" wildlife - - -

Closer to home
I ordered an IP camera on Ebay from China some time ago and it arrived safely a few days ago.  My main reason for buying it was that the description said it was an Outdoor Webcam Camera
Alas on reading the instructions it says "Keep away from water and when get wet, cut off power immediately" - - - hey ho!
To give the item its due the instructions don't contain many "Chenglish" phrases and are quite easy to understand.  The software "in the camera" is surprisingly similar to my Foscam FI8910W .  The application that comes on a CD though needs a bit of "fiddling with" because sometimes it works then it doesn't.
I e mailed the seller detailing their description and my concern and received the following reply, "We sell the items as the listing shows. Please kindly use it according to the instruction. Thank you for your understanding very much"  Mmmmmmmm! - - - "Something lost in translation i fear!"

The logging lately has been productive
I have reached a couple of larg/ish trees with not a lot of return for firewood.  The saplings are so rangy and thin most of them go straight on the bonfire.  My plan now is to get rid of all the small stuff before tackling all the large ones in turn.

We decided to try and make some wine from the grapes growing in the lower greenhouse
here i am picking the fruit, we are at the stage today of siphoning the end product into the demi-john and then must sit back and hope for the best
Here's Sainsbury looking appealing on the bridge over the pond
Although here he is lying in wait for a mouse he had spotted coming under the fence and going after the seeds dropping from the birdfeeders! - - - success came a little later! - - -
Once i retire next March I'm intending to give "gardening" a serious go and am already planning things to do in preparation.  One is to modify the height of the bed on the right of this pic.  Its always been difficult to get at so should be an interesting winter project!

Enjoy the day
