amid speculation now that it was hijacked according to a couple of stories in today's papers. The pic at left shows its original route but new reports show it turning left an heading back over Malaysia and on into the Indian Ocean.
This Mail story has a more detailed approach to the mystery and concludes that without doubt the plane was hijacked - - -
The Express however points its front page towards Pirates as to the cause of the mystery!
A man threatening suicide on Tower Bridge in London
unwittingly leads to another man in imminent danger of drowning being saved form the Thames below the bridge.
It would not have been much longer that the man in the water would most certainly have drowned as he was suffering from hypothermia when he was pulled out. The man on the bridge? - - it looks as if he was also rescued from the water eventually? - - -
Its a common enough site nowadays, people plugged in at the airport
This amusing story about "plugging in" anywhere rings true! On a different twist its often amusing to watch people going about their daily lives completely immersed in their "device". We were amused when visiting Hong Kong years ago to see, mainly young people, walking along heads down texting away. Even here now its de rigueur! I was working the other day when this customer approached me and said, "I cant get a signal on my phone in here" (Sasinbury's) she had been wanting to phone a friend in order to ask about an item she wanted but couldn't remember the name of it. "What network are you on" I enquired as there are a couple that doent work too well around the shop. "Tesco's" she replied with a sheepish grin, "Ah no we block that one", I said and she got the joke and laughed!
Closer to home
Once again the day started fine and we spent some time in the garden. Sally "potting on" some of my last years, "cut and stick it in" cuttings. Each summer I clip the box hedges and use some of the clippings to produce more plants, nothing scientific just poke them into some soil in a pot. We do the same with rosemary and other herbs, our success rate is about 50% so not a bad exercises.
I spent some time adding bits to the decking
Here Sainsbury is inspecting the 3 boards i have just laid to cover the gap from the back of the pergola decking to the shed.
The idea of this bit is to act as a bit of a bench seat but also we want to level off the soil behind it and build up the small wall at the right hand end to contain the soil in the bed. Later the clouds rolled in and it got chilly so we scurried indoors to sit around the log burner!
He hadn't been gone more than 15 minutes when he returned with this young rabbit. He then proceeded to eat some of it at the bottom of the stairs, leaving a less than delightful pile of innards for me to clear up - - -
Enjoy the day
