Sainsbury's first profit fall for 9 years & 1 gain - 1 loss

In the face of immense competition from the likes of Lidl and Aldi Sainsbury's announce its first fall in profits for 9 years
With Morrisons starting the "price war" amongst the "big boys" not long ago it comes as no surprise really. - - - One big loser will be "Justin King" who has spearheaded the 9 years of "good times" for Sainsbury's and who is leaving later this year - - - You seem to have picked the right time to leave Justin!   - - -

The news is full of pics of Neil Trotter
the bloke who has won over £107m on the euromillions draw last week.  The media is quick to echo the link between his name and the phrase used by Only Fools and Horses Rodney Trotter "this time next year we'll be millionaires" - - -

Another "hard luck" story surrounds a British woman
jailed for life in Pakistan.  The woman claims not to have had knowledge of the 139lbs!  of heroin in her luggage?  come on!  - - -

A story that really supports the statement "even the experts dont know what is good for us"
is the one that expounds the theory There's no link between saturated fats and heart didease   Its been the polivy for years not to eat too many foods with "saturated fats" in favour of "polyunsaturated fats" - - - OK when are the experts going to tell us that "polyunsaturated fats are bad for us? - - -

Closer to home
We drove through a downpour yesterday
to get to our lunch venue at The Grouse at Froggatt and Sally snapped this pic from the car park of the storm front, our cottage is directly under the very dark bit at this point!

On our return I tried in vain to add the Ubuntu operating system to my netbook successfully.  It would install but the wifi link to the internet kept dropping off.  I jumped through all kinds of hoops but eventually gave up and un-installed it - - - This then screwed up my Windows 7 OS and I eventually had to reinstall that!  Hours later with midnight creeping ever closer all was well.  What I did achieve though was that the Windows 7 OS was running as it should from the CPU which before it was almost at 100% all the time.  I'm not forcing all the updates into it this time in the hope that letting it get on with it gradually will not have the CPU problem appear again.
So honours even at 1 gain 1 loss I think! - - -
