Philae tweets! & a cold night forecast fails to show

The headline is backed up by this story of a ghetto at Calais as thousands of migrants descend on the town in an effort to get to the UK - - -

I remember blogging about the 10 year flight of the comet Philae to land on a comet last November.  The technology of the whole thing passed me by as a bit of a waste of money especially as after 60 hours the thing appeared to go to sleep!  Well now it has "woken up" and to announce its awakening it tweeted a message from its own "twitter account" Mmmmmm - - - -
Piles of mayflies a foot deep were seen on this bridge in Pennsylvania after the creatures emerged from the river.  The story also relates how last year in Wisconsin a swarm of mayflies was so dense it appeared on the weather radar as rain - - -

Closer to home,
I read a report on Metcheck yesterday, when they finally got the site up and running again that last night in the UK temperatures could get as low a 0c - - -
the current Temp. on our machine is the lowest its been all night so thankfully we have been spared what could have been a real garden plant spoiler!
the weathercam pic shows a thinly cloudy sky and the forecasters are predicting very little chance of any rain today
we were watching the Jackdaws attacking the peanuts yesterday on the webcam when they suddenly disappeared and were replaced by this pair of collared doves.  We see them quite often in and around the apple tree above the feeders - - -

Enjoy the day
