Dont let this bite you! & squirrel after my nuts

This looks a fairly ordinary tick
This Mail story  indicates that more and more British ticks now are able to infect people they bite with Lyme disease!
The story lays out the appalling list of symptoms that Lyme disease hason offer! - - -

Great pic here of Mount Pinatubo exploding in 1991
this article  though is full of facts about the 1816 explosion of Mount Tambora in Indonesia - - - amazing effects on the global weather! - - -

Our resident squirrel is raiding my nuts this morning
although he had better be careful as Sainsbury the Tabby is out and about!  We also seem to have a couple of cats straying in from our Eastern boundary quite regularly just now probably watching the bird feeder visitors.

We spotted more Swallows yesterday on an early morning walk as about 8 of them swooped over us down near the river.
We intend walking our "Magpie mine" route today but the breezy weather here at present is an indication that it could be decidedly blustery up on the hilltops!

I'll be blogging later tomorrow as I start my serious training for the early June Snowdon Horseshoe walk with a 4 hour trek around Kinder Scout
Here's a pic near Fairbrook Naze about half way around my walk, here's hoping its as sunny tomorrow!

Enjoy the day
