PM's pledge to sort the roads & Ducks a plenty

£15bn pounds has been pledged by the PM for his "Road Revolution"  which will speed up journey times.  can you sense my disbelief!  £15bn is about to be used to tackle 100 "notorious traffic hotspots" in Britain.  I don't suppose any of the money will filter down as far as the A6 and my suspension destroying trip to Sainsbugs for "essential supplies".  Part of the story relates to building a tunnel under Stonehenge which the "Campaign for better transport" lobby mark up as a "desecration" -- - -

History Beckons according to this BBC article about the attempted landing of the Rosetta probe onto a comet on Wednesday this week.  Its gazillions of miles away in space and has taken 10 years to get into a position to attempt a landing.  The Wiki on the project explains that the probe is "designed to complete the most detailed study of a comet ever attempted" but i still fail to see the point of it - - -

The Express would have us believe we can all "live to 120"  - - - Can you ever imagine how creaky all those minor pains you have now will feel at that age - - - No thank you - - -
This sky news story has a fair bit of data to back up its content that we are heading for a "Wetter and Windier Winter"  quotes from the National Weather Service (?) and the Met O are suggesting we are in for a blustery time of it at least for the period months Nov to Jan.  After that they are not so confident,  Methinks we might see a change soon after the Winter Solstice on 21 Dec! - - -

I wandered down to the group of shops known locally as Peak Village yesterday.  Its an odd selection of shops for such an "out in the country" location.  Since it opened 15 odd years ago shops have come and gone as they battle to lure in the tourists and visitors.  I think only the cafe and a shop selling suitcases and bags are original.  ??? yes why would you come to the Peak District to buy a suitcase!
Having fed the ducks which inhabit the Rivers edge in the car park I sauntered into Yeomans outdoor shop only to see it had "Closing down sale!" notices everywhere - - - hey ho - - -

half decent stats this morning, the temp was only 3c at 22:00 last night and i fully expected a frost this morning
the weathercam pic looks almost identical to yesterday.

Enjoy the day
