Soldiers have already paid! now everyone does & the rains came down

The front page of The Times
carries a pic of 2 Israeli soldiers peering into one of the tunnels Hamas have been using to infiltrate Israel.  The chilling story underneath indicates the enormous cost of the rebuilding of the Afghan infrastructure after we and others have wrecked it.
If you look at The Times  story on the headline it would appear that we have already forked out £890m with the Americans having paid $61.5 billion.

So now that soldiers have paid the ultimate price we have to shoulder this cost and in the end the insurgents will, without a doubt, walk back in after we are gone - - -

The Express on the other hand
stick to curing us of every ill - - -

Alarming pics from Taiwan on this story
Leaking gas pipes are said to be the blame but its unclear if this is true at the moment.
Reports of 24 dead and over 200 injured are from official sources but these figures look likely to rise - - -

Broadband switching can be expensive!
it shouldn't be but here are some horror stories about charges levied to people form some providers.
Some are ridiculous like reportedly one woman who was charged a fee even though it wasn't laid out in the providers terms and conditions- - - step carefully before switching - - -

Closer to home
Yesterday rain was forecast but I went logging just the same.  The ever thickening clouds looked pretty menacing so only did a couple of hours.
The rain finally appeared around 1900 even though on the Metcheck upwind radar didn't show any.  Slowly at first then along cam the wind, thunder and lightening and treated us to a grand show.
The back yard cam picked up the start of it
out the front of the house the water quickly overwhelmed the drainage and the water reached the other side of the road.  The flash firing shows up the rain coming down in this shot
Here cars are having to go onto the other side of the road to get through it

Today looks like it could bring more rain so its going to be a "make and mend day"

Enjoy the day
