Money talks & almost time for the Fun Factory again

I see Bernie Ecclestone the F1 boss has managed to slither out of the German legal system
a "Free man"
He was on trial for bribery, "He denies wrongdoing" so the story go;s but the bloke he's supposed to have bribed is in prison for "accepting bribes"
Bernie pays £100m dollars and the trial is shut down.  Even the Germans are aghast - - - money talks - - -

This story has been in the news and my blog before
Its a probe which has been chasing a comet around space for billions of miles no doubt consuming billions of $'s on the way.  Its finally going to be within 62 miles of it this morning.  Its not going to send its "lander" to the comets surface until November so its another "nail biting" wait to see if its a success! - - -
The idea is to study the plume of gas and water vapour behind the comet.  Scientists say "if the chemical signature of the hydrogen matches that of water on earth, it will strongly suggest comets filled the oceans when they smashed into the planet billions of years ago"  - - - sorry but I still dont get it - - - is it me?

At least the Express
doesn't let us down with a doom and gloom story about our energy bills rising again
the detail  of the story indicates that energy companies are hiking up prices becvause of a dip in profits due to the last mild winter! I wonder if they'll put them down if we have a hard winter?  - - - where's the energy watchdog? - - -

Closer to home
A dull rainy day in prospect so it looks to be a bit of a, "make and mend day" and get out into the garden between the showers

Down at the Fun Factory (Matlock Sainsbugs) yesterday there was a bit of excitement I gather.   A bloke was spotted loading up a bag of some kind with booze and attempting to make off with it.  The store alert was broadcast and a number of colleagues raced to the rear exit and held him until the police arrested him.

Apart from that it looks to be "the usual" menu when I return to to another round of shifts tomorrow.

I managed a couple of hours logging yesterday and am inching closer to a decent sized tree to fell
the small ones in the foreground are mostly going straight onto the brashing pile being even too thin to make firewood.  The large one poking above the others is right against a fence line.  I might have to rig up a rope and employ Sally with Boris to pull it in the right direction to avoid smashing the fence.

Enjoy the day
